My sincere apologies to those in the community who are seeking psychological support. Please talk to your GP if you would like alternative referral suggestions.
For GPs and Workcover personnel who are overseeing an existing client please call if you have any questions or concerns.
Overview
I work with the general community in the treatment of depression, anxiety, grief-related issues and relationship problems. I also provide therapy that focuses on relaxation, distress tolerance and communication skills. I have a particular interest in workplace matters, and issues relating to interpersonal (personal and workplace) relationships.
I also have an interest in work-related trauma, those suffering from PTSD, and work-related stress. I treat professionals who work within emergency services, including police, paramedics, fire services, SES, nurses, medical professionals, corrections staff, and other emergency responders and first responders.
Depending on your needs, I am trained to deliver Trauma-Focused Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) for those diagnosed with OCD, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. Determining what is best for you is discussed during counselling. Counselling is available via face-to-face or via Skype. Trauma-based treatment is only delivered in person.
Work-Related Trauma and Work-related Stress Counselling
I have a particular interest in those who are experiencing work-related stress, single-event or multiple-event work-related trauma, and workplace interpersonal issues (including bullying) and/or burnout. Work-related trauma and stress may occur in the context of policing work, attending incidences' as a paramedic, firefighter, emergency services rescuer (SES), or within the medical and nursing professions. Those who are associated in some way with a suicide or a serious on-site event, are encouraged to attend.
I am a registered psychologist and a full member of the Australia Psychological Society. I am also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Sciences Association. I have over thirteen years of counselling experience with children, adolescents and adults. I have a current Working With Children Check certificate.
In my capacity as a registered psychologist, I am a service provider for Medicare Australia and the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA). I am a registered provider for NSW Workcover (SIRA), as well as Queensland Workcover, Victorian Workcover, and South Australia Workcover. I provide support for those registered with NDIS who have Plan Managed or Self-Managed funding. (There are no out of pocket expenses for seeing me if you are using your NDIS funding.)
Please email me or call or text 0400 407 968 if you have any questions.
